Mel flew through the air. It was night time and the sky was so cloudy that no stars could be seen. Not that they could be in the middle of the city on a regular night anyways. When she got to her destination she landed. She was now at the highest point in the city, on the highest building. The rain was just a light sprinkle. She folded her bat like wings around her shoulders and walked to the edge of the building. Her job was to find and eliminate a target, a human target. She was the best agent in the company she worked for. Sure she could only work nights because she had wings and could not be in the sun because she was a vampire. That didn't bother the agency though. Her superior strength was actually welcomed. She looked at her watch. "Just two more minuets.." The columns of buildings made everything look the same from where she was. The client new the exact schedule of this person down to the minuet. She was actually quite impressed at the information she had been given. It was much more extensive than any she had received before in the past. "If I need to... I could make this person trust me very easy..." She mused out loud. At that moment her watched went off. It was telling her it was time. She pressed the button to make the beeping stop and put down her suit case. She undid the latches and opened it. In side was a black Master Sniper. It had the best scope for the distance she was targeting from. She quickly assembled the gun.
The rain suddenly picked up speed and Mel swore to herself as the gun pieces became slippery. But in just a few seconds she had completely assembled the gun...

Jill sat in the coffee shop, sipping her drink quietly. Her face was hidden behind the hood of her long, black cloak. After finishing she walked to the counter to pay.
"Jill, you know you don't need to pay," said the man, smiling.
"I prefer to," Jill replied. She put the money down on the counter and started to leave.
"Be careful on the way home. I really wish you wouldn't go alone..." the man said.
"I can take care of myself."
She pulled her hood down so it covered her face even more, and quickly began to walk home. "Home" was really just an abandoned building on the city outskirts.
It didn't take long to arrive but she suddenly stopped, hearing people ahead. Being a werewolf, she could hear much better than most people.
"So there were squatters living here, huh?"
"Yeah, I guess so. They thought they might be werewolves."
"Well, they have to come back eventually."
"Maybe."
"Primitive beasts...we give them their own land yet they feel the need to invade ours!"
"This has been happening since the land cut. I think we'll be seeing riots soon."
"You think so? Oh well, they aren't any match for our weapons. They just fight with claws."
A low growl rumbled from Jill's throat.
"What was that?!"
"F*ing police. I'm no match for them right now, though...I better get going."
She turned around and began to run.

Mel looked through the scope. a normal human wouldn't be able to shoot from here even with the scope but since she was a vampire she could see perfectly. Two cops pushed through the crowds as if they were fallowing someone or something. Normally Mel would not care but tonight one of those cops was her target. She paid little attention to the other cop as she made sure the other cop was 100% the guy she needed dead. He had dark hair, fair skin, wore 3 different crosses around his neck, and a tattoo of a skull on his collar bone. Yes this was him. Smiling Mel fired the gun. The cop dropped and she started to hear screaming. She quickly disassembled the gun and took off in to the night air.
A few moments later Mel landed in front of the corporate office. A man walking down the sidewalk was startled by her entrance. She smirked and wrapped her wings around herself and walked towards the building's doors.

Jill froze when she heard the sound of a gun shot. She watched as a policeman dropped to the ground in the distance. Smirking, she continued, slowing down to a walk. The other officer would be distracted. Why the man was killed wasn't of any interest to her.
She walked back to the coffee shop she had been in earlier. The man behind the counter seemed surprised to see her. The coffee shop was empty and he was getting ready to close up for the night. The smell of coffee still lingered in the air and a radio was playing rock music softly in the back round.
"Jill! What happened?!"
"Nothing. I need to stay here for tonight, though."
He frowned. "Don't tell me...it was them again...?"
"Yes," she replied, walking upstairs. Reaching a room, she pulled a key from her pocket and entered...making sure to lock the door behind her. The room was simple with a single bed, a lamp, and a bookshelf. There weren't any windows which was probably a good thing. Pulling out a book, she laid down on the bed, beginning to read. It was a very old history book and she sighed, knowing that it would be full of twisted information about how terrible her race was.

Mel laughed slightly. Humans were so stupid and frail. so easily scared and so easily killed. A simple small piece of metal was all it took. for vampires and werewolves, nothing short of separating their head from their body would do. And even then, depending on the power of the individual, that might not even work. it was quite a gamble when dealing with either race. When Mel got inside she went straight to her bosses office. She put her hands done on his desk. "The assignment is finished." She said. He looked at her slightly surprised but then smiled. "And the proof?" Mel reached over to the right of the desk and grabbed the TV remote. She turned and aimed it at the TV suspended on the wall in the corner. She pressed the power button and the Tv glowed and came to life. On the screen was the scene she had just left. Crowded streets, collums of tall buildings, ambulances speeding to the scene. There was tape everywhere around and where the dead cop used to lay a white chalky outline was there. "This is Vannesa with ABC news reporting live. Behind me is the murder scene of Police chief Brad Stewart..." Mel then muted the television. "Do you think that will be enough proof for our client?" Mel asked smiling. Her boss had a matching smile and he handed her her payment.
Mel was at her mansion now. She was able to buy after just 2 jobs. She had all the windows tinted so no sun light could get through and sound proofed it so any noise could not escape. It has 3 stories, more room than she really needed. the sun was almost up and she needed her rest. She laid down on her queen sized bed. Not that she needed that either. It did not matter what she was on once the sun came up, the pain would still come, and she would be left powerless.
She prepared herself by takeing all her clothes off and strapping herself to the bed. If she didn't she may fall off and injure herself or strangle herself with her clothes. And during and after the transformation she would be just as weak as a human. A few moments later the sun came and with it Mel's screams as her skin ripped open and re-claimed her wings.
Tears now soaked her cheeks. As tough as she was and as tough as vampires were in general, Mel had never seen anyone not cry during transformations. When she caught her breath she un strapped herself then she sat up. She wrinkled her nose. "mortality..." she said. She still had the vampire heightened senses. Bullets still couldn't kill her but at this point she could get killed a lot easier. She stood up and went to her mirror. Her hair was now black and shorter only to her waist but was still just as curly as her long silver hair that went to her knees. Her eyes were also darker, and anyone that saw her now would think she was someone completely different than before.
Vampires could walk in the sun, but most felt sick to their stomach after too long. Normally they would not venture out at all because of this. But today, Mel had to go shopping for more amo and maybe some coffee. But that would be later after she slept. She went back to her bed and laid down setting her alarm for 3pm.

Jill eventually fell asleep...although it wouldn't be easy for a human to tell. Werewolves have a tendency to sleep with their eyes open.
When she woke it was early afternoon...she didn't need a clock to figure that out. A little annoyed at herself for sleeping so late, she stretched and got out of bed, grumbling.
Jill put on her cloak and cautiously walked downstairs. She could hear voices below. "Great. There are going to be tons of people now..."
She slipped through the crowds but didn't go completely unnoticed.
"You there. Do you work here?! I'm still waiting for my coffee!" said a voice.
"I don't work here," she replied, walking towards the door. She glanced over and saw that the owner was really busy. It looked like one of the espresso machines was broken. The man who had bothered her a second ago ran over to him.
"How much longer until I can have my drink?!"
"Oh...I'm very sorry, sir. I just need to---"
"I'm going to be late to work!"
"Sorry, I--"
Jill walked over, obviously angry. She addressed the customer.
"Why don't you get your own damn coffee, then?!"
The customer glared at her and sat back down.
"You shouldn't talk to customers like that..." began the owner.
Jill was about to open her mouth when he continued. "...but thank you," he said, smiling.
Jill grinned. "You know, Leo, you should really look into hiring more employees to help you out for days like these."
"I know, I know. But with the tax raises we're barely making any sort of profit as it is...how would I even--" started Leo.
"Mind if I help out for a while? I don't have anything better to do. Don't worry, I'll stay in the back," asked Jill.
"That would be great but you really don't have to..."
"Ok. I'll start by fixing this machine," she said, wandering off.

Mel was highly annoyed. Stupid humans couldnt even fix a machine they themselves built. At this rate she didnt think she would make it in time to the gun shop. As she waited she saw a scene unfold. A woman came down from the top floor and offered to help the distraught owner. Mel caught her sent. 'werewolf...' she thought. She raised her eye brow as she saw here handle the customer. She smiled slightly. When she got to the counter to order she said, "that girl has spunk, and it looks like she knows more about machinery then the rest of you humans.." the man looked up at her and smiled. "ah Mel, grumpy as always...your the one thing I can always count on at 4pm during the rush.." Mel smirked. "So you have my hazel nut coffee? Or is that thing giving you too much trouble?" Mel said placing a 5$ bill on the counter. "Uh, nope.. yours was actually the last one I made cuz I knew you'd be here..." He slid the coffee across the counter and Mel felt people stare at her.

"Let's see...now this should go here and this should probably be moved there..." Jill thought to herself.
"Done," she said. It had only taken her about a minute to fix the machine and Leo was surprised.
"Wow, Jill, you really know what you're doing," he said, astonished.
"I'm going to head back and..." she stopped mid-sentence, smelling a vampire. She usually tried to avoid them, knowing that they would recognize her for what she was. If word got out that there was a werewolf in the coffee shop there would certainly be trouble. Werewolves were not allowed in the city...although more and more of them were sneaking in every day out of desperation. The lands they were permitted to live on were small and food supplies were running short. They tended to camp out on the city's border, entering at night to look for food. If found, they were killed.
Jill was safer inside in the city because of her late father's friend, Leo. He helps cover up for Jill and offers her shelter whenever necessary. He thinks of her as his daughter but she tries not to hang out at the coffee shop too often because she doesn't want to endanger him.
"...wash some mugs." For a moment, Jill's eyes locked with Mel's, and then she rushed off to the back room.
Leo followed after her and closed the door. "Yes, yes, she's a vampire. But she's also a regular customer and I don't think she'd cause a scene," he said, knowing what had happened.
Jill nodded and began to wash the nearest mug.
"I just hate all of this hiding you have to do! You shouldn't have to--"
"That's just the way it is. Anyways, if you think she's trustworthy, then fine. I really don't care," replied Jill, even though she was still suspicious.
"Alright," said Leo, leaving the room and going back to the counter.

When the owner came back sage slipped him a note:
I know what she is. Its nice to see one in the city. For what its worth, your a good guy. If you get in to any trouble you know my number.
Mel then winked and left the shop. She checked her watch and swore. She had 10mins. She ran to the Gun store as fast as she could. She got their just as Jake, the manager was locking the door. He stopped when he saw Mel. He smiled. It was surprising how well known and liked she was considering her dry humor towards humans. He opened up the shop. "Ah.... Master Sniper amo." He said knowingly. "Uh no actually.. I need amo for my .44"
A few minuets later Mel walked out of the store with a sack full of bullets. Most of them were for the shooting range for practice. As she stepped out, she lost her breath for a moment and she started to feel dizzy. "Damn sun..." she cursed in a soft tone. Normally she could make the two trips just fine, but today the sun was very intense.

Leo smiled at the note, it was nice to know he could trust someone. Of course, a note wasn't going to convince Jill anything. She was too stubborn.
Several minutes later, Jill came back out.
"Ok, all done..." she said, looking around. "Things seem to have calmed down."
"Yeah, they have. I think I can take care of everything else myself. You don't have to stay here," replied Leo.
"Are you sure?" she asked. "Well, I'll just be going out for a bit. I need fresh air. I'll come back later, ok?"
Leo smiled and nodded as Jill walked outside. The air was cold and crisp, perfect weather in her mind.
She looked up to the sky and even though the moon wasn't visible she could tell that a full moon was coming tomorrow. Jill could already feel energy rippling through her body.
"Maybe I'll go to the park..." she thought, walking past the book store and gun shop.

Mel Stood back up but she was back on the ground on her hands and knees. The chest pain started. Mel knew what would happen if she didnt get out of the UV rays soon. She forced herself to stand and headed for a tree just a few feet away. She took in a deep breath so she could relax and make it to the tree and that is when she smelled the werewolf again. She stopped and looked around and she say the girl from earlier at the coffee shop.
Mel then suddenly started coughing and she collapsed to her knees. She felt like she was choking. She coughed a few more times and blood dotted the side walk. "Dammit..." She quickly crawled to the base of the tree and instantly she began to feel better.

Jill watched the scene unfold in front of her, not sure what to do at first. No one else seemed to be around so she walked over cautiously.
"Um...Here. Drink this," she said, shoving a bottle full of liquid into Mel's hand. "It's nothing strange, just herbs and water. You'll feel better."
The bottle contained an old werewolf medicine. The werewolf tribes had all sorts of ancient remedies...perhaps this was part of why they lived so long.

Mel looked up slightly surprised. She stood up then looked at the bottle then back at the werewolf. "I...Im fine.. thank you.. I usually can make the trip.. but.. I don't know what happened..." Oddly she seemed quite embarrassed. Usually a new vamp would make this misjudgment. And Mel wasnt a new vamp. She was born sometime in the 1600s she couldn't remember the exact date now, the years seemed to blend together. She looked at the bottle and back at her again. "And you should be more careful... You wont survive very long her other wise.." She was about to walk off when she reilised how ridiculous she just sounded. She almost gets herself killed and now she is telling this girl to be more careful.

"I've been here for 31 years, I think I'll be alright," she said, slightly annoyed. "Anyways...thank you for not making a scene back there. Keep the medicine, I have plenty." It sounded forced.
She turned and started to leave, surprised at her own kindness. "I've been hanging around humans too much, I'm starting to act like one!" she thought, mumbling to herself. "Or rather...I'm starting to act more like Leo..."

Mel stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. She was surprised at her self but spoke anyways. "I've lived her for a hundred years..." She dropped her hand from the womans shoulder. "Sorry.... I think.. I've been around these humans too long... " She forgot touch was an insult unless of course you were very close with the other person. "S... sorry... I will go... sorry to waist your time." She stepped out in to the sun again.
