Jill arrived back at the mansion quickly...the whole trip home seemed like a blur. She didn't understand why Catequil had listened to her like that. She just hoped that the other packs didn't act.
She didn't see Mel around and decided to check the office. "You here? You won't believe this, they actually are going to hold off! Of course, if Mary isn't elected I'm pretty much screwed," she said, laughing kind of nervously.

"Hm?" Mel looked up from her desk. Later on she had grabbed the pendant from the jewelery room just in case. She clutched it in her hand. "Oh, good... then tomorrow should go smoothly." She put the pendant on and tucked it under her shirt. She decided to use it anyways in case something went wrong. She couldn't take the chance. She stood up. "Will you be coming with?"

"...Oh. Yeah, I guess if it's ok with you. When should we leave? I assume it'll take a while to get there?" asked Jill.
She hadn't ever left the area, it would be pretty exciting.

Mel set up in a window near the area the speech was taking place. Currently the two parties were debating werewolf rights. They were out side on a stage, and there was a large crowd, both parties having a large fan base. Just when things started getting heated, and the two senators were both breaking the debate rules and raising thier voices Mel took aim at Marry Morgan's opponent. She then pulled the trigger. She had a silencer on it so all people saw was his saying, "wolves are a threat to society!" His fist went in to the air. Then his body fell to the floor. It happened so quickly Marry already was halfway through her comeback before she realized her opponent was dead on the floor. There was this split second in time where everything was quite, dead silence. Then screams started and security began to search and contain the crowd. Then Havoc broke lose and the two sides of the crowds started fighting each other. The cops had to break up the fights, but they soon go out of hand.
Mel quickly packed up her equipment and ran out side to the scene. Mel looked up at the stage and Marry was completely alone on the stage. 'Where are her body guards?' Mel thought then ran on to the stage. Suddenly a gun shot echoed through the air and Marry Morgan started to fall and Mel ran and caught the senator in her arms. Blood ran out of the gun shot wound and all over Mel. The womans body jerked and she coughed. She looked up at Mel almost as if she was about to fall asleep. As Mel stared at the woman in her arms her eyes went wide, her pendant had fallen out of her shirt and now was glowing. It was faint, but there was a noticeable glow. The pendant did many things for a vampire, it made transformation a breeze, gave her all of her powers except no wings. Mel still had her human dark shorter hair and blue eyes. Suddenly the fights got even worse when some of Marry's supporters transformed and started fully attacking everyone. More police were called in but the wolves were dominating even with thier small number. Mel didn't know what to do.

Jill had been hiding nearby and was shocked to see such chaos suddenly break out. It was difficult to tell what was going on...all she knew was that Mary had been shot too. Wolves were everywhere, transforming and fighting. It was the day of a full moon and they were even more powerful then usual.
She transformed quickly in order to defend herself. In wolf form she was a small brown wolf with a large scar going down the right side of her face. Jill was extremely fast and didn't have much trouble dodging most of the attacks.
As the fighting escalated, more and more police showed up, firing their guns. Suddenly, though, a large wolf appeared out of nowhere. He was much bigger then the others and had a dark brown coat. Small scars covered his body, he had been in his fair share of fights. "Catequil..." thought Jill.
Catequil let out a long, deep howl and everyone, even the humans, froze. Some people ran after seeing him...he was pretty menacing.
He howled again, telling the wolves to back off. Most did but some continued to snarl and snap at the humans. One of these wolves was nearby and Catequil ran over to him, grabbed him with his teeth, and flung the wolf to the side. The wolf yelped and ran a few feet away. Silence followed for a minute and then Catequil transformed back and began to speak in English.
"Nothing will come of this, let's end the fighting now."
As he was talking, some police closed in and attempted to shoot him.
"You would actually challenge Catequil, Alpha of the Forest pack?" He said, laughing and dodging bullets. Catequil went back into wolf form and ran over to the police, grabbing them one at a time and tearing them to pieces.
Everyone was quiet...the fighting had stopped, at least for now. Even police officers stood there, frozen and unsure of what to do. They didn't exactly want to fight Catequil.
Catequil spotted Jill nearby and spoke to her in their native tongue.
"Chasca? I'm surprised to see you here."
"As am I."
"Friendly as always, eh? Listen. I'm going to stay behind to talk to the police. I need you, Polevik, and Ariconte to get everyone out of here in one piece."
"...Me? Why?"
"Because I know you'll get the job done."
"That doesn't explain--"
"Come on, get going! Before fighting breaks out again!"
Jill walked off, a little annoyed. Ariconte and Polevik joined her. In wolf form Ariconte was a large dark grey wolf and Polevik was a skinny black wolf.
She looked up and saw Mel on the stage with Mary. "I wonder if Mary will make it...?" She desperately wanted to talk to Mel but knew she had to go. "I'm sure I'll be able to find her later now that I know her scent."
"Chasca, we need to move a little faster" said Polevik.
"Oh, sorry," replied Jill, picking up speed. They ran around, convincing the wolves to disperse, while fending off the occasional violent human. Just as they were about ready to leave, Jill felt something hit her in the thigh. For a moment she felt as if she was walking on air...and then there was darkness.

As the woman died the pendant's light faded. Mel laid her down on the stage. The Paramedics where there but they couldn’t get through the crowd. 'She’s going to die...' Mel thought. Quickly Mel took off her shirt and pressed it on to the woman’s chest where the bullet hit. "Just hold on a bit longer... The paramedics are almost through…" Mel pleaded. Unfortunately it was too late, and Mary took a deep breath and then her eyes just stared up at the sky, but the pendant did not stop glowing. Mel was confused. In the legend, if your soul mate died, the glow would completely go out. A few seconds later the paramedics pushed Mel out of the way. They started trying to bring her back with CPR.
In shock Mel just stood there watching the commotion. One of these people in this mess of werewolves and police was her soul mate. She then shook her head to get stupid ideas out of her head. "It's just a legend..." She mumbled to herself. She stepped off the stage and saw a police officer bring out a tranquilizer gun. I guess he was some air head that just arrived on the scene because just as the guy pulled the trigger the police chief shouted, "Hold your fire!" The dart hit Jill in the thigh. Mel ran over and ripped the gun from the man and snapped it in half. "What the hell are you doing!? She was helping you!" The man was slightly surprised but then got a smirk on his face. "Ah a vampire. I can’t believe you guys help wolves now..." "You better watch it..." Mel said as she clenched her fists. "That’s a curious glow coming from your pendant; it seems you are more than just a wolf sympathizer. How old are you?" Mel was a little taken aback; this man knew a lot about vampires and even knew how to insult them. Asking age was considered highly rude, it was like calling some one immature and stupid. Mel growled at him. Maybe she would use him as food tonight, it would be the ultimate payback. The officer pushed passed her and said, "Excuse me but I just bagged a wolf. Pretty too, will look good on my wall. By the way I'll be billing you for the gun." Mel spun around and grabbed the man by the shoulder and spun him around. She then grabbed him by the collar of the shirt. Surprisingly he wasn’t threatened at all and just kind of smirked at her. She then smiled sweetly at him and his amused look turned in to a confused one. She stared in to his eyes and then he began choking. She let go of his shirt and he fell to his knees. Through gasps he managed to say, "Stop... wait.....just l-let me... If you...d-don’t let me... g... Y-you’ll.. be... A-rg...Arrested..." Mel smirked and released him from her magic. She then grabbed him by the collar again. "I'd think twice next time you think about challenging a vampire..." She then threw him to the side. There were two wolves by Jill's motionless body. They looked very worried. "Uh.. don’t worry, just a tranquilizer. It probably has something in it to stop transformation though." Mel stayed her distance and didn’t go too close. The pendant seemed brighter, and she didn’t want to get closer. She was a bit afraid to confirm who was causing the glow. It could be any of the wolves in front of her or any of the police squad behind them. Either way, it wasn’t good.

Jill laid there unconscious for a couple of minutes. Still asleep, her body began to move on it's own. She was switching between wolf and human-like forms rapidly, unable to stop.
Polevik tried to shake Jill awake but wasn't able to. He transformed out of wolf form and spoke in English. "Her body won't be able to handle these constant transformations...we need to get her help."
He picked her up gently and carried her off, Ariconte following in wolf form. "I'm going to take her to our healer. You may come if you'd like," he said to Mel.
Polevik mumbled something to himself in wolf language before continuing.

"Um.. no .. I-I have to go..." Mel turned and ran the other way. She had to get out of there. She went to the hotel her and Jill had got when they arrived in town. She dropped off her weapons and slipped in to some sweat pants. In a few hours she would have to go out to feed. It had been a while since she had last hunted and she was a bit nervous.

The wolves arrived at a forest housing the pack Polevik was from. They were greeted by Volos, Alpha of the pack. See, there were two major packs in California. One lead by Catequil and the other lead by Volos.
Volos was a tall, lean man with short black hair and blue eyes. "You need to see the healer, yes?"
"Yeah, Chasca isn't looking too good..." replied Polevik. "Oh, and these other wolves are from--"
"Catequil told me everything," replied Volos, referring to the howls.
Polevik carried Jill several yards until they arrived at a tent, Ariconte following behind them. A female wolf walked over to them. She was very old but had long, black hair...wolves' hair colors don't change the same way humans' do. The healer immediately went to work, forcing all sorts of liquids down Jill's throat (In her sleep, Jill once shouted "F*ck off!" but the healer simply smiled).
"Well? Is she going to be ok?" asked Polevik impatiently.
"Yes, however, she won't be able to transform for at least a day. She needs to rest," the healer replied.
Polevik looked down at Jill...she was back in her human-like form and had stopped shifting. She started to mumble and then opened her eyes.
"...mm...where am I?" she asked.
"You're going to stay with our pack for a little while...you were hit with one of those new tranquilizer darts..." replied Polevik.
"...No...I can't...I..." Jill started to say but then she fell back asleep.

It started raining that night. Mel wrapped her wings around her shoulders and put on a leather jacket. 'Okay.. I will just go check on Jill.... no.. I cant do that... I need to feed then take this thing off...' Mel thought. She left the hotel and made her way in to an ally. She felt like dirt. This wasnt even going to be fare for the human she picked. Just some pathetic homeless person was who she would kill.
The rain beat down hard and quickly soaked her clothes and hair. she could see two people in the ally one in a box and the other just sat against the building wall no seeming to mind if he got wet. Mel took a deep breath and walked up to the guy up against the wall.
"HI, I just wanted to ask you.." she started talking as she took off her coat. the man looked at her oddly. "If you wanted to go to a better place.." she extended her wings and the man screamed. She grabbed him by the shirt and pushed him against the wall with force. A bit more then she had planned. His fear was getting her excited, and she had no experiance controlling what she felt durring hunts. 'Jason was right' she faintly thought as her fangs extended and she lost control ripping out his throat and draining him dry. Her eyes were solid black as she tossed his dead body to the side. The other homeless person started running back down the ally scared and Mel ran after her. She easily caught up to her.
Blood and rain mixed as Mel stuck her hand through the womans chest needing to feel the warm liquid and beating heart in her hand. She tore it from her chest and the look of horror crossed the womans face as her body fell to the ground. Mel was going even more crazy and she jumped on the now dead woman and bit in to her arm sucking the blood. Mel, as she was earlier was no longer there. It was something more primal, and animalistic.

Jill woke up again a few hours later...it was night time now and a full moon was out. Usually this would be a time of celebration but it was oddly quiet. She got up, stretching.
Ariconte, still in wolf form, ran over to her. "You should probably rest more..."
"No, I'm fine," said Jill, smiling slightly. Normally the full moon would give her tons of energy but she felt strangely calm.
"Just don't try to transform. You don't have the energy yet," Ariconte said.
"What? Why?! When will I be able to?!" asked Jill, annoyed. She didn't like the idea of being helpless.
"A day."
"But I...Fine. Whatever," she said, looking around. "What's going on, anyways? It's so quiet."
Ariconte was quiet for a moment and then started to explain. "The government is blaming wolves for the attacks earlier. They're now making it so wolves legally have to be micro chipped..."
"What?! That's treating us like common dogs! We can't--" shouted Jill.
"That's not all. The first group of wolves to be chipped, the ones captured the other day, seem to have lost the ability to shift into wolf form. They seem to be caught in some sort of in-between state...they have a human-like appearance but have visible ears and a tail. So they aren't very strong and are easy to tell apart from humans..." he continued.
"They...they can't do this..." replied Jill, obviously upset.
"That's why we're fighting back."
"...You mean a war?"
"Yes. We declare war tomorrow morning. A large group of high-ranking wolves have begun traveling to the White House."
"...Oh...I...Um...I need some fresh air!" exclaimed Jill, running off.
"...But we're outside..." said a confused Ariconte, watching her run.

Mel's eyes rolled back in her head. she was feeling high. She was sitting up against the wall in the ally. Blood would cover her completely if it wasn't for the rain washing it all away. A few moments later mel blinked and her eyes turned back to a very light almost white blue. She was back, contious and fully aware of what she was doing, and what she had done. Emotionally empty mel took her pendant off and stuck it in her pocket. It would go back in to her office in there under ground passage way. And it would stay there for another hundred years. No at this point that would be too soon. She stood up and went back to the hotel. When she got there she didnt bother changing or anything. She just collapsed on one of the beds and closed her eyes. She forced her mind to stay clear, and not think about anything, because she knew if she did she would remember feeding and she didnt want too.

Jill knew that once war broke out, she wouldn't be able to stay in the same place for too long. Knowing that she would be on the road for a while, she decided to head back to the hotel and gather as many supplies as possible...food, water, and clothes.
She ran up the stairs to the room they had been staying in and opened the door. She was surprised to see Mel there and even more surprised to see blood all over her clothes.
"What happened?!"

Mel opened her eyes but stayed laying there. "I.. ." She blinked a few times. She was making her think and remember. After a second she sat up. "... haven't fed... its been years.. I lost ..." Mel closed her eyes. She put her face in her hands. She took a deep breath. And tried again. "I just lost control .. I haven't fed in over a hundred years. I used my pendant... I had to .. ah.. sh!t.." She felt pain in her hip. The pendant was digging in to her. "God this has been such a sh!tty day..." Mel laid back down on the bed. She felt like the very first time she went on a hunt, Discussed and embarrassed.

Jill sat down next to her. "Yeah...it was a pretty bad day..." She slowly put her arm around Mel's shoulder but then quickly withdrew her hand. "That was kind of rude of me..."
"Sorry. I hang around humans too much," she said, forcing a laugh. As much as she wanted to go, she couldn't. She couldn't just leave Mel there.
"Yeah, I have DEFINITELY been hanging around humans too much..."
