After creating much attention, including that of Prof. Oak, in the small Kanto town when he was dropped off by his older brother Lance; Cesc was greeted by the Prof and invited to his lab.
It was there where the proffessor revealed that Lance was the in the Kanto Pokemon Elite Four, as well as being the Johto League Champion. Cesc was amazed, he knew his brother was good but he never knew how good. After Oak had informed Cesc about his brother's Pokemon skills he asked who he was. Cesc told him that Lance was his brother and that he had come to Kanto to take the Pokemon League challenge. Oak informed Cesc that before he could challenge the League he had to defeat 8 Gym's, each specialising in a certain type of Pokemon- Cesc was intredged and wanted to know where to start. The proffessor continued to give the rookie trainer all the basics he needed to know and handed him a map of the Kanto region;
"This is Pallet Town here Cesc," Pointing at the map, "the closest gym would be in, erm, ah yes, Pewter City, yes."
"What about this city proffessor?" Asked Cesc pointing at Viridian,
"Oh no, the gym in that town is far to difficult for a beginner like yourself, and besides the gym leader has been away for some time." Informed Oak. Cesc accepted this, he didn't mind he was just so excited to be finally here, in Kanto.
After a brief lunch with Prof Oak, who updated the Pokedex he had recieved from Prof. Elm 2 years ago to recieve data on all the Pokemon in Kanto, and his assistant Tracey, who had kindly agreed to look after any Pokemon he wanted to if he caught more than 6 Pokemon; Cesc headed in the direction Route 1 which lead to Viridian City, where he had to pass through before getting to Pewter. Cesc stroll with purpose as he passed signs that marked his position: 'Route 1 - Viridian City ^',
"This looks like the way," He said to himself as he walked down the path that would lead him to the next city.
"Woah..." Murmered Cesc as he spotted the first Pokemon he ever saw in the Kanto region flying through the air, it was shining in the sunshine as if it was covered in metal plating but it's purple tail was easily made out againest the blue of the sky. Cesc grabbed his Pokedex from his pocket and pointed it at the Pokemon just in time as it disapeared out of sight; 'No Pokemon data available,'
"No data?" Said Cesc confused, 'There are still Pokemon yet to be discovered,' Replied the Pokedex.
"Awesome," Said Cesc, putting his Pokedex back into his pocket, taking glaces into the summer sky hoping to catch another glimps at the mysterious Pokemon.
Cesc was so caught up in seeing that Pokemon again that he didn't realise the distance he had made until he walked into a sign! He looked round first, embarasedly just to make sure no one saw it happen, when he saw no one around he then looked at the sign that had so rudely let him walk into! 'Welcome to Viridian City', Cesc couldn't believe he was already at the next city. As he walked into the town he passed a police station on the left and then many houses until a magneficent builing came into view in the horizon, 'What is that place?' thought Cesc, he decided he may as well check it out whilst he was here and after he wasn't in a rush.
As Cesc approached the dome-shapped building he spotted several people leaving and entering the building, 'Looks like it's a popular building' he tought, as he walked up the few steps to the entrance 'I hope it's free entry.' He arrived at the entrance and looked up, it was nearly as tall as the Mall in Goldenrod City in Johto, however it had the letters P.C over the doorway, he entered through the automatic double doors. 'Wow,' thought Cesc as he saw all kinds of different types of people and Pokemon. He saw what looked like a reception desk so he walked over to ask what this was all about. After speaking to the lady at the desk Cesc felt dumb!
"Of course it's a Pokemon center," he said, the lady behind the desk giggled and said,
"A new trainer aren't you? Don't worry I get asked that at least once a day from new trainers!" She said lightly trying not to make Cesc too embarrased, "I'm Nurse Joy and I work here in this Pokemon Center to heal any hurt or sick Pokemon back to perfect health."
"That's great," Replied Cesc, "You must rely get a buzz out of doing that,"
"I certainly do," Joy said, "Do you have any Pokemon that need recovering?"
"Erm, no, I haven't had to use them since I arrived in Kanto." Answered Cesc,
"Oh, but you know if you have travelled a long distance Pokemon can still get sick if they haven't visited a Pokemon Center or used a healing machine," Cesc hadn't healed his Pokemon since he left Johto earlier today.
"Maybe you could take a look at my Pokemon then Nurse Joy please,"
"Certainly," She placed a tray on the counter which had indents for Poke Balls to fit in. Cesc reached for his Poke Balls and placed them in 2 of the indents. With that Nurse Joy took the tray into the back and told Cesc to wait in waiting room. He sat and waited for Joy to return. After 10min's of waiting she returned,
"Your Pokemon are pretty tired and they'll need to rest for a few hours, why don't you stay here tonight? It's getting dark."
"You have sleeping facilities here?" Cesc asked, Nurse Joy informed Cesc that every Pokemon Center had a cafe and beds for all trainers to use for free. With that Cesc agreed to stay the night and was shown to his bed. There were already a few trainers asleep, so he tried not to disturb them as her got into bed; it was only 7pm but he was very tired, after all, this had been a long, exciting day and he planned to wake up bright and early in order to set off early to Pewter City for his first Gym badge the next morning.
