There's no Fire Emblem thread and it makes me sad ;_;. So yes. Talk about Fire Emblem here. Right now I'm playing Radiant Dawn and am on my second play through. For those of you who don't know, you can change certain things on your second time through the game. The first time I played my characters who were ranked the best by the end were Titania, Nephenee, Shinon, Tibarn, and Sothe. How Tibarn got up there is a mystery XD. I think it's because I started using him a lot in the final chapter...he was my main boss attacker guy (along with Ike). Soren, Nolan, Mia, Oscar, Gatrie, Jill, Marcia, and Elincia were the other main units I used. I didn't recruit Haar, hahaha. For some reason I had in my head that he'd just join in automatically or something...oops. Later I'll be doing that mission on my second game so I can this time. My favorite characters are probably Soren, Mia, and Sothe. Remember to warn people before you post spoilers. I don't want anyone ruining the game for others -_-. Being a rabid FE fan I might even give you a temporary ban >_>. Rawr. Also, I expect you to post here, Zihark . You know, whenever I fight with him I can't help calling him "Jet" sometimes, lol.

woot u rock sami. i can't believe ur getting me started on fire emblem. Are u doing it on hard mode? lol for some reason every time i play it none of the dawn brigade survives until the end even sothe. in my last play through i had volug lv 36 he had equal strength to naliah. also i realized if u give rolf blossom he gets crazy strong. well yeah my fav character is zih...... Volug and Zihark. People think volug is not very good but if u take halfcrap off him the first time u get a chance to and have him get a good level support (him and zihark have avoid+ support bonuses) he can be as strong as a laguz king. the only thing i don't like about him is that in this game he doesn't get to much strength when leveling up. and a finally my zihark skill set was astra (trublade) adept vantage and inbue. by the end of the game if he got hurt he would heal health equal to the black night's imbue.

Pretty much hated it on my first play through, but forced myself to do a second, and it was more enjoyable.
The main problem for me is I'm the type of person who wants everything to go perfect, meaning at the end of the game, I want every enemy I could possibly kill defeated, and none of my units dead. This obviously made the game just irritating, as one little error in moving your character, and it could be gone forever in one turn. I also disliked the linear plot, unlike other popular SRPGs like Disgaea and Final Fantasy Tactics, you can't get into battles that don't directly influence the storyline; you are either battling to progress in the story, at your bases screen getting more items, or reading the story. Very little freedom. Also would've been nice to be able to freely change jobs, rather than being forced into it.
But despite my complaints, it's still probably a 7 out of 10 for me. It will never be in my top 10 favorite RPGs, but it was good enough for the purchase. Just barely, but it still counts.
Oh, and Ilyana used to be my favorite until they nerfed Thunder magic so much in Radiant Dawn. She's pretty useless now, so depressing. I suppose Sothe would be my favorite, followed by Tormod, just for his cheery personality.

Don't have a Wii.
But I've played thorough the others, and loved 'em!

I've only ever played Sacred Stones I think it was called. I liked it. Very fun. But it was the hardest game I've ever played. I didn't like that when someone died they were DEAD. For EVER. I didn't like that part but it was very challenging, which was good for me. It's hard to find a genuinely difficult game nowadays. :] Should I look into them a bit more? I hear it's an awesome series.

Path of Radiance for the Gamecube was good, I don't know if I can suggest Radiant Dawn for the Wii though. With the Wii's major selling point being motion sensor, and the fact that they don't even make an attempt at using it in the game, plus the subpar graphics, and other various things already pointed out, Radiant Dawn is more for the people who closely follow the series. It's a good rental, but a bad game to start off on if you're pretty new to the Fire Emblem franchise.

I want games where you just push buttons >_>. Even Dragon Quest has taken that route and it pisses me off. But I wouldn't recommend the game if you found Sacred Stones frustrating (unless you play on JP Normal/Easy).

And SS was the harest for me, as it was the first I played.

Pretty much the Wii's only selling point is the motion sensor, might as well abuse that to hell. I could see it working in Fire Emblem where you have to trace something on screen in the Battle Phase to see if you counterattack/attack twice.

I would hate to see every game using it...especially one that doesn't need it >_<. It will be the end of regular button games ;_;. I like to play video games after a long day when I'm tired. I don't want to be waving the wii remote around frantically or anything XD. If I wanted a work out I'd play DDR .

Amen to that. I'm on Part 2...first playthrough. My main units are Leonardo, Sothe, Nolan, Tormod, and Jet...erm...Zihark. xD I beat Blazing Sword a while back (Fire Emblem in the States)...it was rather awesome. Erk and Guy were great. ====spoilers below==== Has anyone noticed that Pelleas looks nothing like his mother? And his mother looks like a laguz...but c'mon, SOREN looks more like her son then Pelleas. And that's because...dun dun dun...he is! xD

And, well, you need to finish the game >_>. I'm not ruining everything for you.
